IL State Safety Inspections

We are a State of Illinois Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) certified testing station for the northwest region.

When you call for information, we'll identify the type of inspection required, the estimated cost and time needed to complete the procedure.

We provide three types of inspections:

1. Appendix G
• Intrastate power units with a licensed GVW of 8001 lbs and above
• Intrastate trailers with a licensed weight of 3001 lbs. and above
2. Special category
• Medical transport vehicles
• Religious organization vehicles
• Buses registered as charitable vehicles
• Senior Citizen transport vehicles
• Buses designed to transport 11-15 persons, including driver
• Rebuilt (salvage) vehicles
3. School Buses – buses painted "school bus yellow" that transport students

U.S. Department of Transportation Testing

We are the official test station for U.S. D.O.T. annual inspections required of these commercial vehicles:

• A GVW rating or gross combination rating of 10001 lbs. and above
• Those designed to transport 15 or more passengers, including the driver
• Any used to transport hazardous materials in a quantity requiring placarding
